Scottish Liberal Democrat justice spokesperson Liam McArthur MSP has today called for the role of the biometrics commissioner to be expanded to include all forms of biometric data such as the use of facial recognition technology used in schools, shops, supermarkets and other public places.
The Liberal Democrats are calling for a higher minimum wage for care workers in Waltham Forest, to tackle chronic staff shortages in social care. It comes as the latest figures reveal Waltham Forest has 550 job vacancies in the social care sector, meaning there is a vacancy rate of around 12.2%.
