This week’s newsletter is a bit of a special edition, wrapping up a busy few days at the Liberal Democrat Conference in Brighton.
Scottish Liberal Democrat Adam Harley has today urged the Scottish Government to use “the abundance of powers already at its disposal” to get on with the rollout of safer drug consumption rooms across the country.
Responding to new figures showing that there were 1,113 drug deaths in Scotland in 2025, an increase of 11% (116 deaths) compared to the year before, Scottish Liberal Democrat leader Alex Cole-Hamilton MSP said:
Liberal Democrat Leader, Ed Davey, has outlined the challenge. Closing the Liberal Democrat conference in September he made it clear "We are in the fight of our lives. Dark forces on the right are trying to destroy the British values we hold dear."
