Devon's Lib Dem candidates have worked so hard during this campaign, and that hard work has paid off by giving the party the largest number of councillors at Devon County. Those dedicated councillors can now begin the process of addressing the huge backlog of problems left by the previous Conservative administration, and get the County Council working for the good of the people in Devon. Too much money and time has been wasted over the past 26 years, the Council now needs to focus on the issues that matter most such as SEND provision, roads and social care, amongst others. It is well known that budgets are tight, but the Lib Dems have an excellent track record of finding creative solutions to problems and getting the best value for money for the people they serve.
Liberal Democrats see the best in things. We celebrate diversity - and non-conformity and if something isn't working we try to fix it or we fight for reform. We are committed to representing local people and making sure your voices are heard.
I’m looking forward to a positive outcome at the UN Oceans conference in Nice this week after I went to a ‘rewilding the oceans’ event in Parliament last week and the release of David Attenborough’s newest film Ocean.
After a lovely few days at home it was back to work in full swing!
This week, as the house is in recess, I’ve taken a few days to rest and spend with family, I need to remind them who I am!
Last week saw the welcome news that the Government has strengthened our relationship with the EU with a renewed deal which encompasses trade, travel and collaboration.

Thursday 8th May was the 80th anniversary of VE day, and it was humbling to see the many events that had been organised to commemorate the day, not only in the constituency but across the country too.
I celebrated my birthday this week, I took the morning off to spend with my family, the first time I’ve actively taken off since being elected last July!
After a lovely 2 weeks in the constituency whilst Parliament was on its Easter recess (albeit with a brief recall to discuss all things steel), I caught the early train to London with a spring in my step, no doubt helped by the beautiful weather!
This Easter has been a mixed bag of sunshine and torrential rain, more than just April showers. I hope that if you had any time off over the Easter break that the weather didn’t spoil it for you.
77 years ago today, the HMT Empire Windrush docked in Essex - marking the beginning of the Windrush generation’s arrival here in the UK.
So we will keep fighting - until we can finally build a society where everyone is free to be who they are.
